Mercer County brought home third-place medals in a pair of relays at the IHSA 1A Boys State Track and Field Meet in Charleston Saturday.
The Golden Eagles took third in the 4×100 relay (John Baldwin, Jacob Kenney, Tannen Whitehall, Daylen Blaser) with a time of 42.77, finishing behind state champion Morrison (42.16) and runner-up Ridgeview (42.76).
Mercer County also took third place in the 4×200 relay (Baldwin, Zander Huston, Whitehall, Blaser) with a time of 1:29.32. The Golden Eagles finished behind Morrison (1:26.92) and Tuscola (1:28.40).
Morrison won the Class 1A state championship.
