Aledo Aquatics Center Not Opening In 2026

The new Aledo Aquatics Center will not open in 2026.

Aledo city officials confirmed with WRMJ on Tuesday the facility would not open to the public this year, but declined further comment.

Originally, Aledo city officials were targeting Memorial Day to open the new facility. Then, in February, Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch told WRMJ the timeline for opening the Aquatics Center had been pushed back to around July 4. In late July, Hagloch told WRMJ the city was hoping for a September opening.

During Tuesday night’s Aledo City Council meeting, Aledo Parks and Recreation Superintendent Scott Earl said the project is now estimated to be completed by the end of September.

The new Aledo Aquatics Center will feature a splash pad, pool, locker rooms, and a concession stand.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the estimated $6.4 million project was held last August.
