Aledo Aquatics Center Project Nearing Completion, No Opening Date Set Yet

As construction of the brand-new Aledo Aquatics Center nears completion, Aledo city officials say they’re unsure it will open this year.

On Monday night, Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch provided an update on the project to WRMJ, saying that construction is expected to be completed in late August or early September; however, there is currently no confirmed opening date.

Originally, Aledo city officials were targeting Memorial Day to open the new facility. Then, in February, Hagloch told WRMJ the timeline for opening the Aquatics Center had been pushed back to around July 4.

The new Aledo Aquatics Center will feature a splash pad, pool, locker rooms, and a concession stand.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the estimated $6.4 million project was held last August.
