The new downtown Aledo driver services facility is officially open.
The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office held an unannounced grand opening on Monday at 10 a.m. at the facility, which is located at 129 East Main Street.
According to the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, the facility will provide driver’s license and state ID services, REAL ID applications, vehicle registration transactions and license plate sticker renewals.
A DMV returning to Aledo was announced in July. The previous driver services facility in the city closed last June after the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office said it was unable to reach an agreement with its landlord on a new lease.
