Matherville Woman Facing Meth Trafficking Charges Released From Custody, Returning To Court Next Month

A Matherville woman facing three felony meth-related charges has been released from custody and will return to court next month.

40-year-old Ashley Engels was granted pretrial release with GPS tracking last week. She was originally granted pretrial release following her arrest in April, but had it revoked in May after the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it served a failure-to-appear warrant.

Engels is charged with a Class X felony of methamphetamine trafficking, a Class X felony of methamphetamine delivery between 100-400 grams, and a Class X felony of methamphetamine possession between 100-400 grams.

Engels will return to court on Oct. 19.
