The case against two men arrested after police say they seized more than 13 pounds of drugs from an Aledo house last year continues to move forward.
23-year-old Dequan Huntley of Chicago and 23-year-old Preston Huston of Aledo appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Monday for pretrial conferences, where both were continued. Huntley’s was scheduled for Oct. 19, while Huston will return to court on Dec. 7.
Huntley and Huston were arrested last July following an investigation by the Aledo Police Department and Quad Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG). A press release from the Aledo Police Department said that 119 grams of MDMA testing positive for methamphetamine, 4,697 grams of marijuana, 1,506 grams of THC wax, 63 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, and digital scales were found and seized from the property.
Huntley is charged with a Class X felony of possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of cocaine and a Class 2 felony of possession with intent to deliver 500-2,000 grams of cannabis.
Huston is charged with a Class X felony of possession with intent to deliver 100-400 grams of methamphetamine and a Class 1 felony of possession with intent to deliver 2,000-5,000 grams of cannabis.
Both were granted pretrial release with conditions, including GPS monitoring.
