Sarah C. Harroun, 78 of Macomb, formerly of Aledo, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, in Macomb, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, September 17, at the Mercer County VFW in Aledo. All family and friends are welcome for a light supper, and to toast Sarah’s memory.
She was born December 1, 1947, in Moline, IL, to William and Seville Sackville Bivens. In her earlier years, she was a local beautician, later working at Illinois Bell and serving as an Office Manager. She was perhaps best known for her quick wit and sarcasm. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her mother of Keithsburg; son, Bill of Macomb; grandchildren, Marston and Jack; sisters, Peggy Bivens and Kell Bivens; nieces, Jennifer Richter and Suzy DeKeyrel; as well as great nieces and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and her best friend, Carol Haffner.
