David L. Hampton, of Rock Island, formerly of Aledo, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at Harmony Davenport in Davenport, Iowa. Graveside services are 2 p.m., Friday, September 4, in the Eliza Creek Cemetery. There is no visitation and Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is in charge of arrangements. David was born November 29, 1954, in Aledo to David Earl and Florine Hazel Blake Hampton. David graduated from Aledo High School and never married. When he was younger, David was an auto mechanic but later was employed by the City of Moline. He was involved in both the Street and Park departments where he enjoyed working outside.
David appreciated growing up on a farm and loved being outdoors whether it was cycling or riding his motorcycle when he was younger. David was an avid rock and roll fan. He loved all animals, especially his cat and pet pigeons.
Survivors include one son, Keegan B. Hampton of East Moline, Illinois; his mother, Florine of Aledo; one sister, Lorene K. (Roger) Anderson of Davenport; and one brother, Dennis Hampton of Aledo. His father preceded him in death.
