Sunny And Breezy Today, But Watch For Slick Roads Tonight

It’s a tale of two forecasts today as we enjoy mild temperatures before a dramatic plunge tonight. Today’s high will reach near 49 degrees under sunny skies, with breezy conditions bringing southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. However, the pleasant warmth won’t last long, and road conditions could become hazardous.

As temperatures drop sharply to a low around 15 tonight, there’s a chance of sprinkles or flurries before 10 p.m., followed by occasional flurries until 11 p.m. Conditions will transition from cloudy to partly cloudy skies overnight, accompanied by blustery winds from the northwest at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Drivers should be cautious, as black ice is a significant concern, especially on side roads, which could be particularly slick.

The cold will intensify on Saturday, with a steady temperature around 18 degrees but wind chill values plunging to near zero. Sunny skies will be accompanied by blustery northwest winds at 15 to 20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

Looking ahead, temperatures will continue to plummet:

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a low of 2 degrees and wind chills near -10.
Sunday: Mostly sunny but frigid, with a high near 6 degrees.
M.L.K. Day: Mostly sunny with a high near 9 degrees, and overnight lows dipping to -6.
Cold conditions are expected to persist into midweek, with highs slowly climbing toward the mid-20s by Wednesday.

Please exercise caution, especially during tonight’s sudden freeze. Stay safe and stay warm!
