Sherrard (15-2, 6-0 TRAC West) rallied from a six-point second-half deficit to beat Rockridge (10-12, 2-4 TRAC West) 43-33 in girls basketball on the road Thursday.
The Tigers led 10-6 at the end of the first quarter, opening up an 18-8 advantage in the second. Rockridge cut the lead to 19-16 at halftime and went on a 12-1 run that spanned parts of the second and third quarters to go ahead 20-19. The Rockets lead ballooned to 29-23 with under a minute to play in the third quarter. Ellie Swanson and Violet Meskan nailed back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game 29-29 at the end of the third. Overall, Sherrard outscored Rockridge 20-4 after the Rockets led by six.
Adalynn Elsbury scored a game-high 17 points for the Tigers. Violet Meskan added 11 in the win.
Keaten Needham led Rockridge with nine points. The Rockets shot just 1-10 from the free-throw line.
With Riverdale’s win over Monmouth-Roseville, Sherrard has a two-game lead in the conference with four games to play.
