A crash on Route 67 near Milan left one person dead and another seriously injured on Wednesday morning.
According to a press release from the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, two vehicles collided head-on in the 15000 block of Route 67 in rural Milan at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. A 32-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 52-year-old man was transported from the crash with serious injuries.
As a result of the accident, Route 67 was closed in both directions from 127th Avenue to 176th Avenue for a period of time on Wednesday. It has since reopened to traffic.
The Rock Island County Coroner’s Office will release the names of the individuals involved after next-of-kin notification.
The crash remains under investigation.
