The Sherrard High School football program is aiming to return to the field this week after forfeiting last week to Princeton.
The athletic department said the team “intends to play” on Friday. The Tigers are scheduled to play in Spring Valley against Hall.
Sherrard head coach Dan McGuire says he hopes his team can play.
Sherrard announced it was forfeiting last week’s game on Thursday, citing low numbers in the program due to injury and illness. McGuire confirmed to WRMJ that more than 10 players were going to be unavailable last week.
Sherrard has 34 players in the high school program.
