Diana L. Rader, 74 of Aledo, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, September 18, at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo where the Mercer County VFW Auxiliary Post 1571 will conduct rites at 6 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, September 19, at the Aledo Cemetery. Diana was born December 18, 1950, in Aledo to Robert and Georgia (Staley) Rader. She graduated from Westmer High School in 1969 and attended Iowa Wesleyan University. She worked for many years at the Joy Feed Mill.
She was an active member of the Joy United Methodist Church and the Mercer County VFW Auxiliary Post 1571. There, she held many positions through her time with the VFW working her way up to presidency, and was chairman of many committees with the VFW. Diana was active in many of the Westmer Class of ‘69 reunions. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and was very proud of her 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Mike) Baney of Winnebago, Illinois, Dustin Retherford of Joy, Illinois, and Samantha (Bryan) White and Nickolas (Kira) Spring of Winnebago, and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
Her parents, brother, and sister preceded her in death.
