William ‘Bill’ T. Tracy – Services 8/28/23

William “Bill” T. Tracy, 84, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Family Health and Rehab Center in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 28, at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, Kansas, with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding. Burial with Full Military Rites by SWKS Funeral Honor Guard will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be 12 to 6 p.m., Sunday, August 27, at Swaim Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to YMCA or RSVP in care of the funeral home. He was born on February 27, 1939, in Mercer County, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Nola (Blair) Tracy. Bill married his high school sweetheart Ilene Mc Neal on May 5, 1957, in Millersburg, Illinois, she survives. Bill loved to garden, cook, fish, and go on family vacations in his spare time. He loved his pets, especially his dogs and cats. He was an avid KU Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He always looked forward to watching his children participate in their school activities. Bill had a very contagious smile, which everyone loved.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Aledo, Illinois, and the YMCA, Optimist Club, and the First United Methodist Church, all of Dodge City.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ilene of the home; son, Mike Tracy and wife Jami of Valley Center, Kansas; daughter, Pam Boyd and husband, Jason of Questa, New Mexico; daughter, Stefanie Tracy and husband, Zach Lerner of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, Tracy Smith of Goddard, Kansas; and Terry Smith and wife, Sherri of Wisconsin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wayland Tracy, Jackson Boyd, Phoenix, and Dasheil Tracer, Courtney Ball, Alec Smith and wife, Nat, Blake Smith and wife, Hannah, Jesse Smith, and Nick Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Hall of Aledo, and sisters-in-law, Cherie Tracy and Mary Ann Tracy, and Mary Lee McAlister, all of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nola Tracy; one son, Steven Tracy; sister, Alma Lee McInnis; and two brothers, Norman Tracy and David Tracy.
