West Central beat Mercer County 1-0 in softball on Tuesday in a game that lasted just over an hour.
The Heat (15-2-1) plated the game’s only run on a two-out RBI single by Lauren Winters in the top of the first inning. The teams combined for just five hits in the game.
Miley Stimpson was the winning pitcher for West Central, throwing a complete game shutout while allowing two hits.
Elsie Cook took the tough-luck loss for the Golden Eagles (8-8), giving up one run on three hits in seven innings of work.
