A Sherrard man facing sexual assault of a child charges will return to court in June.
59-year-old Arden Scott Anderson appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where a pretrial conference was continued to June 15. Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson objected to the continuance, but it was granted by a judge.
Anderson was arrested in September 2024 and charged with two Class X felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was denied pretrial release and remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail.
Last July, Anderson had a jury trial scheduled for Jan. 26, but that date was waived as part of a continuance of the case last December.
