Aledo Waiting For IEPA Approval To Repair Filtration Issue At Water Treatment Plant

The City of Aledo submitted documents to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency in late April for approval to repair an ongoing filtration issue. The problem is preventing the production of RO water. The city received a letter from IEPA on May 3rd, stating that the agency had received the city’s proposal and the earliest the city could approach them for approval would be within 35-60 days. The city is still waiting to receive this approval so they can begin repairs and correct the hard water problem at the treatment plant.
