The IHSA has confirmed that Mercer County High School will host a bass fishing sectional this spring at Pool 18 on the Mississippi River. Pool 18 extends from Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston to Lock and Dam 18 in Gladstone. The IHSA’s Kurt Gibson made the announcement this past Saturday on the WRMJ Sportsline.
The IHSA began hosting a state series in bass fishing in 2009. Teams from the former Aledo and Westmer high schools were in the inaugural field.
