Rock Island County Zoning Board Approves Special Use Permit For Rehab Center Near Sherrard

A special use permit has been approved for a proposed rehab center between Coyne Center and Sherrard.  The action taken last night by the Rock Island County Zoning Board of Appeals and now moves to the full Rock Island County Board for a June 20th vote. The project includes a 12,900 square foot, 24-bed facility on 312 acres of property. The center is a joint venture between the Robert Young Center in Rock Island and the Top of the World Ranch in British Columbia. About 40 residents attended last night’s meeting, according to the Rock Island Argus.
