WRMJ To Celebrate 45 Years With Open House

Jim Taylor, Roger Coleman, and John Hoscheidt

June 12, 1979 — that was sign-on day at WRMJ in Aledo, Illinois. That’s 45 years of commitment to the people and local businesses in Mercer County and the surrounding area. And, 45 years of your commitment to us. We would like to say thank you.

We will be hosting a 45th Anniversary Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 15. Tour the new studios at 129 South College Avenue in downtown Aledo and enjoy cake from one of our great partners in the community – Mercer Market.

Roughly 150 people have worked at WRMJ over these 45 years. Some of our former employees are now working in the community as teachers, insurance agents, and farmers. Many have gone on to successful careers in larger cities.

During the open house, WRMJ’s former General Manager and owner John Hoscheidt will be honored on-air with memories from past employees and friends.

Mark Saturday, June 15, on your calendar and we hope to see you between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
