Sherrard High School’s new varsity football coach has accepted a teaching position with the school.
Zach Weigel was officially named Sherrard’s football coach last month. Earlier this week at the Sherrard School District’s January Board of Education meeting, Weigel was hired as a consumer education/social science teacher, pending completion of certification.
Speaking with WRMJ after being hired last month, Weigel was hoping to teach at Sherrard as well.
Weigel is coming to Sherrard from Davenport Central High School, where he taught and served as defensive coordinator on the football coaching staff.
