Jordan Harris has been named the next Rockridge boys basketball coach, the school announced Tuesday.
Harris was an assistant coach for the Augustana College women’s basketball program the past two seasons. He serves as a local basketball trainer and is a director with the Quad City Shockers AAU program.
He replaces Andy Saey, who went 121-40 in six seasons at Rockridge. Saey was hired as the United Township High School boys basketball coach in April.
Rockridge has made four trips to the IHSA Class 2A State Finals since 2014, including back-to-back fourth place finishes in 2022 and 2023. The Rockets finished third in 2014 and were the runner-up in 2015.
The Rockets have won seven regional championships since 2013. Rockridge has claimed four sectional titles and seven Three Rivers Athletic Conference championships in that same span.
Rockridge returns four starters from last year’s state tournament team that went 28-6, including sophomore honorable mention all-state selection Landon Bull.
The hire of Harris is pending board approval. The Rockridge School District Board of Education next meets Thursday, May 25.
Harris is a 2014 graduate of Marquette High School in Alton, Illinois and 2018 alumni of St. Ambrose University.
He spoke with WRMJ Tuesday night.
