Rockridge (8-19) defeated Mercer County (12-14) to end the Golden Eagles’ season, 4-0 in the IHSA 2A Orion Regional quarterfinals Monday.
The Rockets were led by freshman left-handed pitcher Carson DeKeyrel, who threw a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out nine over seven innings.
Tanner Dye, Cullen Daly, Seth Kramer, and Tyler Thiem each drove in a run for Rockridge.
The Rockets advance to play Hall Wednesday night in Orion.
