Charges Dropped Against Viola Police Chief

The disorderly conduct case against Viola Police Chief Troy Brock has been dismissed. The motion to dismiss was filed Tuesday in Mercer County Circuit Court by the special prosecutor handling the case.

According to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release in late November, the sheriff’s office “received a request from the Aledo Police Department to investigate a complaint of possible disorderly conduct that had occurred at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo.

The Mercer County State’s Attorney’s Office, after reviewing the investigation, charged Brock with six misdemeanor counts last December.

Brock remained on the job after the charges were filed.
