Darlene Mae Fuhr – Mass Of Christian Burial 10/28/23

Darlene Mae Fuhr, 94 of Andalusia, formerly of Edgington, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Silver Cross Nursing Home, Rock Island, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 28, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Andalusia. Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.

Darlene was born on March 26, 1929, in Edgington, Illinois, to Wayne and Bertha (VandeVoorde) Elliott. She married Ivan H. Fuhr on September 17, 1947, in Milan, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2011.

Darlene was a lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was very involved in the church. She was a great cook who enjoyed gardening, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family. Darlene and Ivan enjoyed wintering in Mercedes, Texas.

She will be missed by her children and their spouses: Connie and Curt Krueger, Larry and Karen Fuhr, Dixie and Victor McKenna, and Jackie Platt; grandchildren: Jill and Zack Prout, Courtney Krueger, Jim and Sarah Krueger, Ryan and Julie Fuhr, Andrew and Cassie Fuhr, Matthew and Jenny Fuhr, Cody Sowa, Wendy Boppert, Kelly and Scott Secor, Millie Boppert, and Jennifer Livingston; great-grandchildren: Lee, Zoe, Kennedi, Harper, Kiersten, Holly, Brady, Cade, Max, Charlie, Ari, Capri, Ryian, Maille, and Marshall; and three great-great-grandchildren: Zelie, Samuel, and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter: JoAnn; twin sons: Donnie and Ronnie; and siblings: Francis and Lloyd Elliott and Ella Marie Selligman.
