City of Aledo Begins Search For Parks & Rec Superintendent

The City of Aledo is looking for someone to lead its parks and recreation department.

At Monday’s city council meeting, the council approved the job description and salary for a superintendent of the parks and recreation department. Troy Blaser previously held the parks and recreation director title, but resigned from the position in July.

The salary for the position dropped from $60,000 to $45,000.

The superintendent will be responsible for the management of the parks and recreation department, organizing and run tournaments and programs for the parks and rec department and Mercer County Family YMCA, and will oversee the Aledo Aquatics Center.

Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch discussed the position with WRMJ on Monday.

Hagloch says the city hopes to fill the position by the end of the year, with an anticipated start date in January.

The position is shared between the City of Aledo, Aledo Park District, and Mercer County Family YMCA.
