Aledo has a new city administrator. Mike Chausse was unanimously approved for the position Monday night. He has served on the city council for 12 years.
Chausse will be paid an hourly rate of $38 not to exceed $69,996 per 12-month period. Health benefits were waived. He will begin his new job Aug. 14 at which time he will step down as alderman, meaning the city council will now have two vacancies says Mayor Chris Hagloch.
Chausse has lived in Aledo since 1988 and is a retired ag teacher.
Also last night, aldermen approved a retirement agreement for 26-year police officer Nick Seefeld and the council learned that a similar “Welcome to Aledo” mural design will be placed on the south wall of the former Gun Report storefront.
