Alleman High School has its next football coach.
The school announced that Riverdale High School assistant coach Tom Barber was hired for the position on Tuesday.
Barber has been the offensive coordinator at Riverdale since 2016. He’s also served as an assistant coach at Davenport North, John R. Lewis High School in Virginia, and Waverly-Shell Rock High School in Iowa.
He replaces Tom Schmulbach, who resigned after two years leading the Alleman football program last month.
Alleman is returning to varsity football after playing a JV-only schedule the last two seasons.
