Sherrard High School senior baseball standout Aidan Terronez was named to the IHSA Class 2A All-State Team, the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) announced Tuesday.
The left-hander allowed just eight earned runs and 25 hits in 62.2 innings pitched this season. Terronez was 8-1 on the mound with a 0.89 ERA and struck out a Sherrard single-season record 131 batters this season.
Terronez is the first player in Sherrard baseball history to be named to consecutive all-state teams after he was an all-state selection in 2024, as well.
Terronez will play collegiately at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Rockridge sophomore Cullen Schwigen earned honorable mention all-state honors.
