A Henderson County man facing 15 felony counts in a Mercer County criminal sexual assault investigation has waived his preliminary hearing. 23-year-old Mason Butler of Oquawka appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Tuesday morning. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. A September 18 pre-trial has been scheduled.
The charges range from Class 1 to Class 3 felonies and involve allegations of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Butler was arrested over the weekend and remains in the Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond.
