SE 2nd Avenue Project Won’t Be Done In 2024, Aledo Focusing More Attention On Sponsler Subdivision

It doesn’t look like the City of Aledo will proceed with an improvement project for SE 2nd Avenue or Swimming Pool Road this year. But Mayor Chris Hagloch says the upgrade is still on the city’s radar.

The city council approved spending $415,000 Monday night for grading at the Sponsler Manor Subdivision. Hagloch speaking about the project earlier this summer.

The city approved spending $24,000 late last year for tree and brush removal near Sponsler Lake, which the city now owns.

The first phase of the proposed development would involve 11 lots.

The city acquired the property for $215,000.
