A former student has waived his preliminary hearing in a case involving a threat made to Mercer County High School. 19-year-old Aaron David McRae of Joy has pleaded not guilty to a Class 4 felony charge of disorderly conduct involving a school threat.
The alleged threat occurred over social media, according to a press release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. They were assisted in the investigation by the Aledo Police Department. McRae was arrested on Dec. 16. He remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $20,000 bond. A pre-trial conference is set for Jan. 17 in Mercer County Circuit Court.
