Tye Delane Anderson – Private Family Services

Tye Delane Anderson, 51 of Aledo, died Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo, after a lengthy and gallant battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Services will be private. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family and condolences may be left at speerfuneralhome.com.

Tye was born May 4, 1971 at the Mercer County Hospital in Aledo to Gary L. and Karon L. (Berry) Anderson. Tye graduated from Aledo High School in 1989 where he participated in wrestling and golf. In 1994 he graduated from Augustana College with a degree in Social Work. He was a licensed social worker with the State of Iowa and worked for various agencies in the Quad Cities until his MS prohibited him from performing his work duties.

Tye enjoyed golf and fishing in his younger years, following the stock market, spending time with family – especially his pets and numerous nieces and nephews, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes (GO Hawks!). He was a lifelong member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo where he was both baptized and confirmed. Tye was also a member of the Aledo Investment Club. His Christian faith was very important to him and he always enjoyed his visits from clergy and other church members. Tye was always willing to help anyone out and possessed a very positive attitude even when his health declined.

Tye is survived by his mother, Karon Anderson of Aledo; his brother, Jason (Kim) Anderson of Independence, KY; his sister, Susan (Mark) Sewald of Aurora, CO; his aunt, Barbara (John) Andrews Clifford of Greenwood Village, CO; his uncle, Ron (Toni) Berry of Chelan, WA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Leo, Puddy, Taffy, and Peanut. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary; brother, James; grandparents; and numerous pets.

The family would like to thank Brenda Howard, Stephanie McIntosh RN, the staff at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo, Dr. Dennis Palmer and staff, and various EMTs over the years for the compassion and excellent care of our beloved son, brother, and uncle.
