WRMJ talked with Rockridge sophomore point guard Landon Wheatley following the Rockets’ 60-59 win over Rockford Lutheran in the 2A Sterling Super-Sectional Wednesday. Wheatley scored 11 points in the game, including what would become the game-winning basket late in the fourth quarter. On that play, Wheatley suffered an ankle injury, likely ending his season.
Rockridge (28-4) plays Bloomington Central Catholic (25-11) in the state semifinals Thursday at the State Farm Center in Champaign at 4:15 p.m. Pre-game coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. on WRMJ.
