Orion was picked by Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) West Division coaches to repeat as league champions in volleyball in a poll organized by WRMJ.
The Chargers went a perfect 12-0 in conference play last season, to go along with a 33-4 overall record. Orion has won back-to-back regional championships and the program has claimed 13 regional titles in the past 16 seasons.
Five of the six coaches in the West Division of the conference participated, so teams were placed based on their average ranking. Coaches ranked their five opponents in the division 1-5 without ranking their own team.
Orion was picked to finish first unanimously by the coaches that participated.
IHSA volleyball contests start Monday.
The TRAC West is made up of Orion, Mercer County, Monmouth-Roseville, Riverdale, Rockridge and Sherrard.
