Rockridge (2-2) dropped both of its games Saturday at the Rock Island/Milan Booster Club Thanksgiving Tournament.
Dyett (3-1) beat the Rockets 54-43 in the first game of the day. Rockridge trailed 17-7 at the end of the first quarter and were never able to tie the game or take the lead. Rockridge cut the deficit to three points twice and two points once in the fourth quarter. Caleb Cunico scored 16 points and Landon Bull had 13 in the loss. Aramis Brown Jr. poured in 18 points to lead Dyett.
Rock Island (4-0) downed Rockridge in the nightcap of the Rockets’ doubleheader 61-50. The Rocks led 23-9 after one quarter and extended the advantage to 17 points early in the second. Rockridge trailed 35-25 at halftime and scored the first five points of the second half to make it 35-30. Rock Island answered with a 12-0 run to close the quarter to put the game away. Cunico, Bull and Landon Wheatley all scored 12 points in the loss for the Rockets. Lawson Zulu had a game-high 15 points for Rocky.
