Rockridge High School grad and current Western Illinois University infielder Payton Brown has been named Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the Week.
Brown led the Leathernecks in a series win over Tennessee Tech over the weekend, including hitting three home runs and driving in seven runs across the three games. She leads WIU in batting average (.408), OPS (1.225), home runs (8), and RBI (31) this season.
This is Brown’s second OVC Player of the Week honor of the year.
Brown was named Co-OVC Player of the Year last season.
