Mercer County suffered its first loss of the 2026 high school football season on Friday, falling on the road at Princeton 49-14.
The Golden Eagles (1-1) tied the game 14-14 on a 41-yard TD pass from Cannon Link to Bradyan Smith with 1:54 remaining the second quarter. From that point, Princeton (1-1) scored seven unanswered touchdowns the remainder of the night.
The Tigers racked up 481 yards of total offense and rushed for 406 yards in the win. Brennen Emmette rushed for 138 yards and three TDs, while Reece Pearson added 132 yards on the ground and two scores.
Eli Boswell led the Golden Eagles with 110 rushing yards, which included a 50-yard TD run in the second quarter.
Rockridge flattened Monmouth-Roseville 56-8 to remain undefeated on the young season.
Thomas Sowards ran for 246 yards and a TD in the win. Cullen Schwigen eclipsed the 100-career TD mark by accounting for six more scores on Friday.
The Rockets (2-0) limited the Titans (0-2) to just 62 yards of offense.
Orion defeated Sherrard 46-6 on Friday.

Myles Davis connected with Eli Matson for a 31-yard TD pass on the final play of the game for Sherrard (0-2)
