A New Boston man facing a felony sexual abuse charge will remain out of custody after a petition to revoke his pretrial release was denied by a Mercer County judge on Wednesday.
24-year-old Gage Welch appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Wednesday, where it was ruled that he would remain on GPS tracking.
Welch was arrested last June and charged with a Class 2 felony of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release at the time of the arrest. He was released from custody at the time of his arrest with conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim.
Welch’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 2. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
