Both the Rockridge boys and girls golf teams won meets to begin the 2024 season Thursday.
The Rockets boys team outshot Alleman 159-200 at Highland Springs in Rock Island. Kaden Cope led Rockridge by shooting a 36, which earned him medalist honors. Carter Scherschel also had a sub-40 round for the Rockets with his 39.
The Rockridge girls team took first place in a quadrangular meet at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley by scoring 190. The Rockets finished ahead of Orion, 236, St. Bede, 263, and Newman, 270.
Rockridge had the three lowest scores in the meet, led by medalist Neva Graves with a 44. Anna Carroll fired a 46 and Brylie Davis shot a 47.
