Rockridge and Sherrard met for the second time in three days in Three Rivers softball action and this time the Rockets overcame two five-run deficits to pull out an 11-10 victory. Ciera Bush singled in Mikaylin Hofer, who had doubled in the tying run, in the bottom of the ninth for the win. Kori Needham hit for the cycle to lead the Rocket offense. Sherrard’s Teagan Nees had three hits for the Tigers and Bella Dean homered and drove in three. Rockridge has now won 35 straight games, tying for 10th place on the IHSA all-time list for consecutive victories.
In other softball action, Annawan-Wethersfield beat Ottawa Marquette 5-1. West Central beat North Fulton 5-3.
In baseball, Rock Island topped Rockridge 9-2. Farmington beat Annawan-Wethersfield 6-2. A-town rolled over BPC 18-2.
On the pitch, Rock Island edged Orion-Sherrard 3-2.
In high school girls track, Sherrard topped four other teams at Dixon. The Tigers finished first in six events.
