Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson speaking in opposition to a recently approved crime reform package. The legislation is referred to as the “Safe-T Act” and impacts pre-trial detention matters, something she is concerned about.
Simpson spoke at a press conference Wednesday in Springfield and was joined by other prosecutors and state lawmakers, including local State Senator Neil Anderson of Andalusia.
Anderson serves as the minority spokesman for the Senate Public Safety Committee.
