Princeville Boys, Knoxville Girls Win LTC Cross Country Championships

The Princeville boys and Knoxville girls cross country teams won the conference championship at the Lincoln Trail Conference Cross Country Meet at Dunes Golf Course in Kewanee Thursday.

On the boys side, Princeville’s team score was 43, which beat second-place Mercer County, 47, by four.

The Princes were led by Joey Bosch, who finished first individually with a time of 15:35.7. The rest of the top-five individuals in order were Annawan-Wethersfield’s Karson Shrum, Princeville’s Tucker Sennett, Ridgewood’s Fernando Avila-Rubio, and Mercer County’s Corbin Sturgill.

On the girls side, Knoxville had a team score of 42, which was 15 points better than second-place Stark County, 67.

The Blue Bullets had two top-five finishers: Alyssa Higgins, fourth, and Emily King, fifth.

Annawan-Wethersfield’s Kennady Anderson took first place individually with a time of 17:39.6. Ridgewood’s Emily Downing finished second, followed by Stark County’s Dusti Smith in third.
