New Boston Man To Stand Trial This Fall In Drug Induced Homicide Case

A Nov. 25 jury trial has been scheduled for a New Boston man facing drug induced homicide and methamphetamine delivery charges. The date was set Monday for 42-year-old Dale Robert Woodsmall. He was arrested in late July following a suspicious death investigation near Seaton that began in May, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department media release. Woodsmall remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail. A final pre-trial is set for Oct. 7.
Illinois State Police, the Mercer County State’s Attorney’s office, Mercer County Coroner Greg Larson, the Peoria County Coroner’s office, and the Aledo Police Department assisted the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation.
