Mercer County Unemployment Rate Improves Again In April

The Mercer County unemployment rate is 4.4% percent.

The number is for April. Last April, the Mercer County unemployment rate was also 4.4%. The number represents a more-than-full percentage drop from an unemployment rate of 5.5% in March, according to data from the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Unemployment has also improved from month-over-month levels in Henderson, Henry, Knox, Warren and Rock Island Counties for April.

Statewide, the unemployment rate was recorded at 4.7% in April, an improvement from 5.2% in March.
