The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department reporting two deaths.
One person was killed in a traffic crash along Illinois Route 94 near Seaton on Tuesday. The driver was flown from the scene to Genesis Medical Center, Aledo, where they later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The name of the deceased has not been released. Aledo Police, Aledo Fire, Elite Ambulance, OSF Life Flight, and the Mercer County Coroner’s Office all assisted the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
In a separate matter, Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check in rural Seaton on Saturday. A deceased subject was later located, and the matter is under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Aledo Police, Mercer County Coroner’s Office, and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
