A local nonprofit is celebrating a successful fundraiser that supported Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Mercer County Better Together’s (MCBT) first annual “Reading is a Gift” Readathon raised $10,275, Executive Director Kyle McEwen says.
The money raised will go directly to MCBT’s facilitation of the Imagination Library program, which provides an age-appropriate book every month for children from birth to five years old who are enrolled in the program. McEwen says around 800 kids have taken part in the program since it launched in Mercer County seven years ago.
Participants can register at the Viola Public Library, New Windsor Public Library, and the Edwards River Public Library in Aledo, or online.
