A Quad Cities man is being sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to the shooting death of a Sherrard teen in Rock Island in 2020. Darvion Lard of Davenport received the sentence Monday in Rock Island County Circuit Court after entering a guilty plea to an amended count of First-Degree Murder. He was accused in the killing of 16-year-old Dylan McAlester in the December 2020. McAlester was a student at Sherrard High School.
