Local U.S. Reps Miller, Sorensen React To Airstrikes On Iran

The two local Western Illinois congressional representatives have differing reactions to the U.S. airstrikes on Iran over the weekend.

On X, Republican Rep. Mary Miller said the airstrikes were a “great victory for the United States” and praised President Donald Trump. Miller’s congressional district includes Aledo, Joy, Keithsburg, and New Boston.

Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Eric Sorensen released a statement on social media saying President Trump “circumvented Congress in attacking Iran.” Sorensen serves on the House Armed Services Committee. His district includes Viola, Matherville, New Windsor, and Sherrard.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said on X that federal authorities and local law enforcement are keeping him updated on any potential physical and cyber threats to the homeland that could affect Illinois.
