Fair Week Perk: Free Bus Rides With Warren County Public Transit

Morgan Lewis, Warren County Public Transportation

Big news rolled into the 2025 Mercer County Fair—literally—with the arrival of Warren County Public Transit’s new countywide service, now offering rides across Aledo, New Boston, New Windsor, and surrounding communities. Director Morgan Lewis joined WRMJ’s Terry James inside the Merchants’ Building to talk about how the expanded service is already making a difference.

“We’ve already had over 22 people take trips in our first week, and even more have completed their intake profiles,” Lewis said. With flexible options for quick pickups or scheduled rides, and payment choices ranging from cash to Medicaid—with Medicare on the way—Warren County Public Transit is designed to serve riders of all backgrounds.

Even better, rides to the fair are free this week through Friday, giving fairgoers a chance to skip the parking hassle and enjoy a cool, air-conditioned drop-off right at the gate. After the promotion ends, fares will remain affordable—just $1 for in-town rides, with most trips ranging between $1 and $3, and a maximum of $7 to $10 for longer hauls.

With 11 buses already zipping around the county, Lewis says demand is growing fast, and she’s on-site at the fair to answer questions and help get riders signed up. “We’re here for the entire county,” she emphasized.

So if you see a Warren County Public Transit bus cruising by, give a wave—and maybe hop on for your next ride to the store, the doctor’s office, or next year’s fair.
